Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using Cope Engine, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the software.

1. Who We Are

Cope Engine is operated by Son Goku Sommer, trading as Cope Engine, CVR 46261690, a sole proprietorship (enkeltmandsvirksomhed) registered in Denmark.

All purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy LLC as our Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy handles payment processing, tax collection, and invoicing on our behalf.

2. The Software

Cope Engine is a desktop application for cryptocurrency market analysis, AI model training, backtesting, and paper trading. The software runs entirely on your local machine.

Cope Engine is not a financial advisor, broker, exchange, or investment service. It is a software tool. No output of the software constitutes financial advice or a recommendation to trade. See our full Risk Disclaimer for details.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Cope Engine. By using the software, you represent that you meet this requirement and that your use of the software complies with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction.

4. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to use Cope Engine on up to two (2) devices for personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms.

5. Free Tier and Pro Subscription

Cope Engine offers a Free tier with limited features and a Pro subscription at $29/month (or $19/month billed annually at $228/year). Prices are in USD and include applicable taxes where required.

Pro subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel anytime through your Lemon Squeezy customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain Pro access until then.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Price changes do not affect your current billing period.

6. Refund Policy

We offer a 14-day satisfaction guarantee on your first Pro subscription payment. If you are not satisfied, contact support@copeengine.com within 14 days of your first payment for a full refund.

Subsequent renewal payments are non-refundable, as you may cancel at any time before renewal.

EU consumers: Under the Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from distance contracts. For digital content, this right may be waived with your prior express consent at the point of purchase, as provided during checkout. If you did not waive this right, you may exercise it by contacting us within 14 days.

Australian consumers: Our software comes with guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure.

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR PRODUCE PROFITABLE TRADING RESULTS.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE FEES YOU PAID TO US IN THE SIX (6) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) $100 USD.

WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: TRADING LOSSES, LOST PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION — REGARDLESS OF THE CAUSE OF ACTION OR THE THEORY OF LIABILITY.

Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Son Goku Sommer from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the software, (b) your trading activities, (c) your violation of these Terms, or (d) your violation of any applicable law or regulation. This obligation survives termination of these Terms.

11. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Cope Engine for:

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your license at any time if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the software at any time. Upon termination, your license to use Cope Engine ceases immediately. Sections 7–11 survive termination.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the website or email. Continued use of the software after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Denmark, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions.

Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be submitted to the courts of Struer, Denmark. If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.
