The short version: Cope Engine runs entirely on your machine. We don't collect telemetry, analytics, or trading data. The only data we process is what's needed to sell you a license.

We are the data controller for personal data processed in connection with the Cope Engine website and license management.
2. What We Collect
We collect very little. Here is the complete picture:

What we do NOT collect:
- No telemetry or usage analytics from the desktop application
- No trading data, strategies, model configurations, or backtest results
- No crash reports or error logs sent to us
- No cookies on our website (no cookie banner needed)
- No tracking pixels, advertising IDs, or fingerprinting
Everything you do in Cope Engine stays on your machine. We cannot see your trades, models, or configurations.
3. How Payments Work
All payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy LLC (222 South Main Street, Suite 500, Salt Lake City, UT 84101, USA), which acts as our Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy collects your payment information directly — we never see or store your credit card number, bank details, or billing address.

We have executed a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with Lemon Squeezy in accordance with Article 28 GDPR.
4. International Data Transfers
Your email address and license data are processed by Lemon Squeezy in the United States. This transfer is covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework adequacy decision (European Commission, July 10, 2023), supplemented by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) included in the Lemon Squeezy DPA.
5. Data Retention
We retain your email and license information for the duration of your subscription plus 5 years after termination, as required by Danish bookkeeping law (bogføringsloven). After this period, data is deleted.
If you use the Free tier and never purchase Pro, we do not store any personal data about you.
6. Your Rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15)
- Rectification — Ask us to correct inaccurate data (Art. 16)
- Erasure — Ask us to delete your data, subject to legal retention requirements (Art. 17)
- Restriction — Ask us to limit processing of your data (Art. 18)
- Portability — Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format (Art. 20)
- Objection — Object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21)
To exercise any of these rights, email support@copeengine.com. We will respond within one month (Art. 12(3)).
7. Cookies
The Cope Engine website does not use cookies. We do not use any analytics services, tracking scripts, or advertising technologies. No cookie consent is required.
8. Children
Cope Engine is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
9. Supervisory Authority
You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Agency:

10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via our website. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
